Bill Mastro Memorial Scholarship

Established in 1998 to honor a Gateway veteran and good friend who embodied the true spirit

of community theater.

We will soon be  accepting Applications for 2009!

Application Forms can be picked up at the Barn.

Requirements:

1. All applicants must be a graduating senior, going on to college.

2. All applicants must be a member in good standing of Gateway Players.

3. All applicants must provide a resume including all Gateway shows they have been

involved in.  List roles and backstage jobs (including stage crew, lights, sound, makeup,

costumes, props, production or direction assistant,set).

4. All applicants must write an essay on "What Gateway has meant to me".

5. All applicants should provide a list of arts involvement outside of Gateway if applicable

(school chorus, drama, band, etc.)

The scholarship will be awarded based on the following point system, also taking into account

the essay and if necessary a personal interview.

50 points - all scholarship application information complete and accurate.

2 points - each year active in Gateway

2 points - per show for acting on stage

2 points- per show involved backstage

5 points - if involved with an arts program outside of Gateway

Application materials will be reviewed and a personal interview may be required.

Scholarships will be announced by June 1st and awarded at the start of the second college

semester with proof of attendance.

Complete applications must be submitted by April 1st.
